Inchcape Unveils 10-Foot Fish-Shaped Dustbin to Fight Plastic Pollution at Thiruvanmiyur Beach

In a creative effort to combat plastic waste, Inchcape unveiled a
10-foot Fish-Shaped Dustbin at Thiruvanmiyur Beach as part of its CSR initiative aligned
with the UN Environment theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution.”

The launch event was graced by Rajini Ravi, Global Head of Finance Operations, Inchcape,along with Mr. Hafiz Khan, Environmental Advocate, and more than 30 employee volunteerswho actively participated in the initiative.

The project was implemented with the guidance and support of the Greater Chennai
Corporation – South Zone, and executed in collaboration with communiTREE, a
nature-positive organization focused on sustainable community impact.

About the Installation – FishnBin
Size: 10 feet height, 6 feet width
Design: Waste is deposited through the fish’s mouth; a rear gate enables easy collection
Material: Welded steel mesh coated with rust-resistant, car-grade paint
Weight: Over 300 kilograms

The FishnBin installation creatively blends art, awareness, and functionality. By symbolizing marine life affected by plastic pollution, it encourages beachgoers to dispose of waste responsibly and contribute to cleaner, healthier coastlines. This initiative reinforces Inchcape’s commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship
