RenewX 2026 2026 OPENS TO AN IMPRESSIVE START IN CHENNAI MARKING A DECADE OF IMPACT FOR INDIA’S CLEAN ENERGY TRANSITION

10th edition of South India’s landmark renewable energy platform highlights innovation, global collaboration, and India’s pathway to a future of energy abundance

RenewX 2026 South India’s leading renewable energy sourcing expo, organised by Informa Markets in India, opened today at the Chennai Trade Centre, bringing together the country’s clean energy ecosystem at a vital moment in India’s energy transition. Celebrating its 10th edition, the show is being held under the theme “A Decade of Impact – A Future of Abundance.”

Building on the strong momentum of its previous edition, RenewX continues its strategic presence in Chennai—India’s clean energy powerhouse—reflecting South India’s growing role in renewable energy deployment, manufacturing, and grid-scale integration. The event has received an enthusiastic response from industry stakeholders across India and international markets.

The milestone edition of RenewX features 200+ leading brands, over 50 distinguished speakers, and more than 8,000 expected industry professionals, positioning the platform as a critical marketplace for solar, energy storage, bio-energy, smart grids, and emerging clean technologies.

The formal inauguration of RenewX 2026 was marked by the presence of eminent industry leaders and global representatives, including Ms. Neha Thomas, Associate Director – Economic Analytics, Frost & Sullivan; Ms. Silai Zaki, Australian Consul-General, Chennai; Shri P. Sivakumar, President, Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Developers Association; Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India and Mr. Rajneesh Khattar, Sr. Group Director – Energy Portfolio, Informa Markets in India

Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, said, “India is at a pivotal point in its energy journey, with significant renewable capacity already installed and an ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. RenewX was created to catalyse this transformation, particularly across South India, where policy clarity, manufacturing capability, and innovation converge. As RenewX marks its 10th edition, the platform has evolved beyond a sourcing fair into a strategic enabler—connecting policy, technology, investment, and global partnerships across the renewable energy value chain.

Southern states are not only aligned with this national vision but are also charting their own leadership paths—Tamil Nadu through its strong wind ecosystem and progressive open-access framework, Karnataka through solar, and other states advancing hybrid and distributed models. Tamil Nadu, in particular, is steadily emerging as a renewables-plus-storage hub, offering vast opportunities for domestic and global stakeholders. With forward-looking policies and strong public-private collaboration, almost 80% of the state’s installed solar and wind capacity now operates under open access, setting new benchmarks for scalable renewable energy development, he added
