Prashanth Hospitals Brings to City a First-of-its-Kind 4th Generation Robot for Joint Reconstruction

The hospital also announced the launch of a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence for Robotic Joint Reconstruction with an aim to improve precision and outcomes in surgery  

Prashanth Hospitals, one of Chennai’s leading multispecialty hospital chains, today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind, advanced 4th generation Robot for Joint Reconstruction. This precision-based technology system comprises of 3D visualization and intuitive control systems,that is used for performing joint reconstruction surgeries in patients with end-stage arthritis and other knee joint related complications. The robotic device was launched by Padmashri. Dr. Mayilvahanan Natarajan, Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon and Former Vice-Chancellor – Dr. MGR Medical University in the presence of Dr. C Geetha Haripriya, Chairperson – Prashanth Group of Hospitals, Dr. Gopalasamy G, Managing Director – Prashanth Group of Hospitals and Dr. Prashanth Krishna, Director – Prashanth Hospitals.

In an effort to further strengthen its services in the Orthopaedics space, the hospital also inaugurated its Centre of Excellence for Robotic Joint Reconstruction at an event today. The exclusive centre will be spearheaded by Dr. Arumugam – Senior Orthopaedic surgeon and Clinical Lead, along with dedicated team of over 20 plus expert Orthopaedic experts, Senior Consultants, Nurses, and Physiotherapists.
