Satish Dhawan Space Centre and Prathyusha Engineering College Celebrate National Space Day 2024
The Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in collaboration with Prathyusha Engineering College proudly hosted the National Space Day (NSD) inaugural function on July 31 and August 1, 2024. This significant event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 3,000 students from more than 200 institutions across the country.
The celebrations took place at various venues within the Prathyusha Engineering College campus, featuring over 25 engaging events. These included science projects, project demonstrations, moon phases models, missile prototypes, and space quizzes, showcasing the remarkable talent and innovative spirit of young minds.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, IAS, Tamil Nadu Additional Chief Secretary, Shri. A . Rajarajan, Director, SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota, Shri. G. Ramesh Babu , Deputy Director, SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota, Prathyusha College Chairman, Shri. P. Raja Rao, Vice Chairman Shri. P. Charan Teja, CEO, Smt. P. Prathyusha. The event started with Welcome address by Mrs. Shanthi, Chairman, Sub-committee NSD- Chennai, welcome address. She conveyed her best regards and the importance of NSD Proceedings. She explained on National Space Day on 23rd August.
In his inaugural address Dr. Radhakrishnan highlighted the notable achievements of space technology and inspired the students with his dynamic speech. His address underscored the importance of space exploration and its impact on technological advancements and daily life. He emphasized the role of space technology in shaping the future and encouraged students to pursue careers in this exciting field. His words were a motivating force, setting a positive tone for the rest of the event.
Shri. P. Charan Teja, Vice Chairman Prathyusha Engineering College, delivered his remarkable speech. He encouraged the students to learn new wide available technologies.
Shri. A . Rajarajan, Director, SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota conveyed his best wishes to the organizers. He elaborated on promotions and expertise of Space programs around 78 locations and in Tamilnadu Prathyusha Engineering College hosting the program. He detailed on the usage of satellite in association with day today life. He encouraged the students to become entrepreneurs for further research projects using space technology.
Shri. G. Ramesh Babu , Deputy Director, SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota delivered his speech. He highlighted on the teaser video telecasted during the inauguration. He explained the importance of celebrating National Space Day and elucidated on role of upcoming generation in the future of space exploration.
Dr. R. S. Kumar, Principal, PEC thanked all the dignitaries, faculty members, gathering and students. He explained that how in possible ways the institution helped to make this event a big success.
The National Space Day celebrations provided a valuable platform for students to explore and engage with the wonders of space and satellite technology. The event also featured a Space Exhibition and “Space on Wheels,” offering interactive learning experiences for attendees.
