Vinayaka Missions Chennai Campus, Women’s Day Celebration 2025
Chennai : Vinayaka Missions Chennai Campus hosted an inspiring Women’s Day celebration on March 5, 2025, organized by the Women Empowerment Cell (WEC)to honor and acknowledge the achievements of women in various fields. The event commenced with a soul-stirring prayer song, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by music, setting a vibrant tone for the celebration.Dr. Giri Rengasamy, Dean of CSR, VMRF, delivered the welcome address and warmly greeted esteemed guests and participants. Distinguished dignitaries, including Thiru S. Arunraj, I.A.S., District Collector of Chengalpattu, and Ms. Neera Misra, Founder of the Droupadi Dream Trust, were honored with bouquets and mementos in recognition of their invaluable contributions to society. Further, Dr. K. R. Maalathi, CEO of Auuro Educational Services, Chennai, and Mrs. R. Seethadevi, Founder of Street Vision Social & Charitable Trust, were honoured for their outstanding contribution to education and community service.
The program initiated with the wishes from Dr. A S Ganesan, the honourable Chancellor of VMRF to all the women, especially the women of VMRF family on the special occasion as we celebrate 25 years of VMRF. The Presidential Address was delivered by the Honourable Madam Chancellor of VMRF, Dr. Anuradha Ganesan, who emphasized the crucial role women play in shaping society. She urged the audience to foster an inclusive environment where women’s voices are heard and celebrated daily, not just on Women’s Day. Her speech was a beacon of inspiration, encouraging attendees to break barriers and lead with strength and conviction. Dr. Christianna Singh, Director, School of Arts and Science, delivered a speech on Women’s Day, the importance it holds in history and its impact on the wellbeing of women. The special Guest, Swami Srihari prasad delivered a address on community development and the vital role of women in societal progress. He acknowledged Vinayaka Missions’ efforts in promoting gender equality and empowerment. The Guest of Honour, Ms. Neera Misra, Founder and Chairperson of the Droupadi Dream Trust, delivered an insightful speech on the resilience of Indian women throughout history. She highlighted the significance of grassroots initiatives in uplifting marginalized women, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
The VMRF Women of Excellence Award 2025 were presented to Dr. K. R. Maalathi, CEO of Auuro Educational Services, for her contributions to education, and Mrs. R. Seetha Devi, Founder of Street Vision Social & Charitable Trust, for her community service.
The VMRF Women Leadership Awards 2025 were presented to Dr. Deepti Shastri, Deputy Dean, Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Medical College & Hospitals, Salem, for her leadership in medical education, and Dr. S. Deepa, Professor & HOD, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital, Pondicherry, for her contributions to women’s healthcare. This special day also sees the recognition of Single mothers of students who work hard to educate their children being awarded with exceptional mother cash award.
The VMRF Women Achiever Awards 2025 recognized Dr. R. Shenbagavalli, Associate Dean, Student Affairs, VMLS, VMCC, for her role in student development, and Mrs. S. Subhashini, Senior Manager – HR (Corporate), for excellence in corporate leadership.
The Outstanding Girl Student Awards 2025 celebrated students for their academic excellence and extracurricular achievements, inspiring them to pursue greater success.

Dr. S.P.
