VS Hospitals Launches Emergency Na Mudhalla VS Campaign on World Heart Day Hosts 4-km Awareness Walkathon
Former DGP Sylendra Babu flags off the walkathon at VS Hospitals, Tondiarpet
Over 300 people actively took part in the walkathon including doctors, healthcare professionals, and members of the public

In observance of World Heart Day, VS Hospitals group organised a four-kilometre walkathon in Tondiarpet. Former Director General of Police (DGP) Thiru. C. Sylendra Babu, I.P.S., flagged off the walkathon from VS Multi-Speciality Hospital Tondiarpet in the presence of Prof. Dr. S. Subramanian Chairman & Managing Director, VS Hospitals, Prof. Dr. S. Sundar, Medical Director, Mr. Muthu Subramanian Executive Director and Mr. Prassanna Srinivasan, Group COO. The event aimed at promoting heart health, and the importance of seeking timely medical attention during emergencies.
The chief guest also launched ‘Emergency Na Mudhalla VS’, an emergency care campaign aimed at promoting timely medical attention, along with the emergency helpline 044-6969-8000. The hospital plans to conduct demonstration sessions on managing common cardiac, neurological and trauma emergencies and educate the public on appropriate first-response measures.
World Heart Day is observed annually on September 29, world heart day focuses on raising awareness about cardiovascular diseases and the importance of recognising their warning signs and symptoms. This year, the theme of the day is ‘heart diseases can hide in plain sight: Don’t miss a beat’.
VS Hospital aims to create awareness and encourage people to become more health conscious. This initiative aims to help the people recognise potential early warning signs and seek immediate medical attention during emergencies.
Speaking at the event, C. Sylendra Babu said, “I want to congratulate VS Hospital for taking such initiatives to bring the community together and encourage people to actively participate in physical activities. Good health and fitness are not just about staying physically active; they are about building a disciplined and healthy way of life. I encourage everyone, irrespective of age, to make physical activity a regular part of their routine. Even small, consistent efforts towards fitness can make a meaningful difference to our overall health and well-being.”
In his comments, Prof. (Dr.) S. Sundar said, “Any health emergency requires immediate attention and action, having the knowledge of when and where to seek medical care makes a critical difference. Through our ‘Emergency Na Mudhalla VS’, we aim to empower people with better awareness of common medical emergencies and the importance of seeking the right medical care without delay.
